Minnesota Remembers:
CANCELED at Fort Snelling National Cemetery for 2020

Focus turned to Flag Requests & Fundraising

May 14th, 2020

—We are saddened to confirm Minnesota Remembers Memorial Day Event has been canceled for 2020. In addition to following strict federal orders, it is our genuine concern to keep our patriotic supporters safe and healthy during these questionable times.

2021 LEGACY FLAG FUNDRAISER

$40,055 of $800,000 raised

Legacy Flag Fundraiser:

A permanent collection for Fort Snelling National Cemetery

A permanent collection of the new retractable flags made to endure the weather, handling and storage is what will root the ability for this tradition to happen Memorial Day after Memorial Day for generations to come. If we do not reach out fundraising goals, the current flags all eventually get destroyed, and the volunteers won’t have the flags to place some Memorial Day in the near future.
So remind your online friends, family, schools, companies, organizations, VFWs and Legions of the FFFS Mission. Thank you for your continued support from our Forever Americans!

We understand that this news might be met by a variety of feelings:

♦ There are many who have expressed their interest to gather up their own followers and place the flags for us. They are feeling patriotic and while we encourage that energy, we remind everyone there is absolutely no gathering at Fort Snelling to place flags beyond your own personal visit to the cemetery. FFFS Flags will not be available for volunteers to place this year.

♦ There have been calls asking to volunteer in other ways to keep the Memorial Day Spirit alive despite Covid-19, and we cannot agree enough! We would love other assistance with fundraising, making calls and sending emails to local organizations to introduce them to our cause. Reach out to 763-296-3524
