Families of the Fallen

For the first time in 35 years Minnesota is within reach of honoring every hero laid to rest at Fort Snelling National Cemetery with an American Flag on Memorial Day. Nearly 200,000 American flags will be placed throughout Memorial Weekend. Minnesota Remembers begins on Saturday with 5,000 volunteers placing a majority of the flags for the cemetery. Sunday will be reserved for Families of the Fallen and Disabled Veterans to place flags in honor of our fallen heroes. The final 10,000 American flags will be placed on Memorial Day morning in tradition of Flags for Fort Snelling’s beginnings.
